PATTERN IS IN FINNISH

Neule Magazine held a design competition in spring 2026, where the first prize was awarded to the Neule sweater designed by Anne Aaltonen from Rumat Studio. This became Neule Magazine's official product. The Neule sweater embodies Neule Magazine's timeless, uncomplicated, and calm style.

The Neule sweater is a very classic cable knit: it is relatively short and boxy in shape. The sweater is loose at the waist, which adds to its comfort. The sleeves, on the other hand, are more fitted so that they do not bunch up and can easily fit under most coats.

The body of the sweater is knitted in the round from the bottom up to the armholes, after which the front and back pieces are knitted flat. The shoulder seams are sewn together, after which stitches for the sleeves are picked up from the armholes, from where knitting continues seamlessly in the round. The sweater is finished with a thick double collar, the edge of which is turned inwards and sewn together with the seam formed inside. The collar is designed to sit upright without uncomfortable tightness.

Instructional videos for the sweater have already been published, and more are coming. #neuleneule

The grey Neule sweater is made with the Vuonue recycled Tilta yarn, knitted in size M-L (yarns received for the sweater). The brown Neule sweater is size S. Other sweaters were knitted by test knitters, which is also separately mentioned in the respective pictures.
