This is a knitting pattern. Available in Finnish and English (select before purchasing).

The vest is worked using a soft bouclé yarn as the main yarn (Yarn A), but the pattern can be worked with any yarn that achieves the required gauge.

Hossa Fleece is worked from the top down, flat in Stockinette Stitch. The purl side is intentionally displayed on the outside of the garment to emphasize the texture of the bouclé yarn.

This pattern is rated Intermediate, as bouclé yarn can be challenging to work with. Distinguishing individual stitches may be difficult. The collar also includes some more advanced techniques. If preferred, the project can be simplified by using a darker bouclé yarn and working the garment entirely in Garter Stitch, resulting in a very similar appearance with a slightly lighter construction.

Construction begins at the back neck. Stitches are increased on every row to shape the shoulders. The back is worked until it reaches the lowest point of the armhole.

The front sections are then worked separately. Their stitches are picked up from I-cord shoulder edges worked along the back shoulder line. The fit of the vest can be adjusted by modifying the front sections as indicated in the pattern.

Once both front sections have reached the required length, the fronts and back are joined and the body is worked flat as one 

piece.

After the body is complete, the collar is worked. Lastly, I-cord edgings are added and the zipper is sewn in place.

Yarn A (main yarn): Gepard Teddy Dear (100 g / 150 m) 250 (250) 300 (350) 350 (400) 450 (450) g

Needles for yarn A: 4,5 mm (US 7) circular needle, approx. 80 cm / 32 inches long, or the size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge for yarn A: 14 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) in stockinette stitch

Yarn B (collar and edgings): Aran-weight yarn (100 g / 180-200 m) 50 (50) 75 (75) 75 (75) 75 (75) g

Use leftover yarns, for example, 7 Veljestä and Peer Gynt are suitable yarn weights

Needles for yarn B: 4 mm (US 6) circular needle, approx. 60 cm / 24 in long, or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge for yarn B: Collar 18 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) in stockinette stitch and I-cord 16 sts / 10 cm (4 in) 

Additional materials: Separating zipper sized to the finished garment or 50 (50) 50 (50) 55 (55) 55 (55) cm, safety pins, stitch markers, measuring tape, sewing thread and sewing needle
